My printer just stopped working. Has both inks. System says "Status: offline", but the printer is hooked up same as always. I'm still using this little gem after 10 years, and it has always worked perfectly. Also, I'm still using windows XP (diehard) -- are the drivers not talking to XP anymore?

Yes, sometimes drivers can get corrupted or various installers affect their good functionality. The first thing you have to do is to check if the cables are connected. Additionally, you can go to Hardware and Devices in Control Panel and right click the printer. Select Online and then try to print something. If you still experience issues, then simply reinstall its drivers.
Secondly, this product is now part of a retired product list and HP removed all the content and support for, therefore you can't rely on them. If you still have the CD with the drivers, then reinstall them.
Yes. As you can see on the official web page, it is available only for Windows XP and Windows 2000. You can try to download and install Windows XP Mode and install the application in this environment. Windows XP Mode makes it easy to install and run many applications that run on Windows XP directly on a computer that runs Windows 7.
